Shoppers can help restock the shelves of 23 area food pantries by donating food items to the Saturday Jubilee Food Drive this Saturday, July 25, at local grocery stores. The Community Council of St. Charles County, in partnership with Operation Food Search, hosts the Saturday Jubilee from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at participating Dierbergs, Schnucks, Shop-n-Save, IGA and Walmart stores throughout St. Charles and Warren County.
Volunteers will be collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations throughout the day. Often, during the summer months when children are home from school, food pantries see shortages in their food supplies. Last year, Saturday Jubilee provided more than 31,000 pounds of food (valued at over $52,000) to restock the shelves of food pantries serving St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren Counties during these critical summer months.
