St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department opened its 11th regional park on April 20.
Located on the campus of St. Charles Community College, the park, aptly named College Meadows Park, is an 80-acre development that features a fitness trail, nine-hole disc golf course and plenty of green space.
The park’s fitness trail connects with nearby greenways and schools, and encompasses 10 exercise stations and a fitness machine that is accessible for wheelchairs. The nine-hole disc golf course features concrete tee pads and professional Mach V Disc Golf Baskets that weave through the park’s scenic meadows.
“College Meadows Park is conveniently located near the heart of St. Charles County and is designed to accommodate citizens of all ages and abilities,” said Bettie Yahn-Kramer, St. Charles County parks director.
The park is a joint partnership between the St. Charles County Parks Department and SCC. By agreement, SCC owns the property and the Parks Department will manage the park through a 20-year renewable lease for up to a maximum of 60 years.
