St. Charles County has several programs available to provide home repair, property improvement and transportation assistance to eligible persons.
The county receives Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) annually to provide services for low to moderate income persons within the cities of Cottleville, Dardenne Prairie, Lake Saint Louis, St. Peters, Weldon Spring and the unincorporated area of St. Charles County.
The Emergency Repair Program provides a loan of up to $5,000 to income-qualifying households for emergency repairs. The Home Improvement Loan Program provides a loan of up to $5,000 to income-qualifying households. Those loans are at zero-percent interest, and if the applicant lives in their home for a period of five years after receiving the loan, the loan is completely forgiven.
The Property Maintenance Program provides a grant of up to $2,500 to income-eligible households to address certain property code violations. The Transportation Services Program provides transportation for eligible residents for necessary medical, shopping and other essential services.
The funds are administered by the county, and the city of St. Peters administers the programs. For more information and applications, visit sccmo.org/312/Loan-Housing-Assistance-Programs.
