Cuivre River Electric recently awarded $5,000 to Veterans Coffee Talk of Troy in the form of a grant to help transport local veterans on their Honor Flight journey to Washington, D.C. Nine veterans were on the most recent flight, and an additional seven local veterans will have their flights funded this spring by the grant. Honor Flights are provided to veterans, with an emphasis on survivors of World War II and terminally ill veterans, who wish to visit memorials that honor their service.
Tiger Docks has announced the addition of Chrissy Davis as human resources manager. The St. Charles-based company employs 20 people in dock design
and fabrication, installation, sales, marketing and project management.

Midwest BankCentre and Southern Commercial Bank have announced plans to merge in early 2015, subject to state and federal bank regulatory approvals. The two banks have combined assets exceeding $1.6 billion, and will rank among the top three locally owned banks in the St. Louis region.

The St. Charles County Convention and Sports Facilities Authority and the city of St. Charles recently extended its management contract with Global Spectrum, which will continue operating the Saint Charles Convention Center through 2018. The company has managed the Convention Center since its opening in 2005. Global Spectrum Event and Exhibitor Services Manager Jennifer Wirtz also recently received her certified meeting planner (CMP) designation from the Convention Industry Council.
