Local man charged with Boxing Day bank robbery



Timothy Alan Denning, 32, of the first block of St. Timothy Drive in St. Peters, has been arrested and charged in connection with a bank robbery that took place on Dec. 26 at approximately 8:45 a.m. at The Bank of Old Monroe, 401 TR Hughes Blvd.

Denning, who used the services of a taxi during the robbery, also was wanted in connection with a Dec. 12 robbery at the Providence Bank, 1001 South Fifth Street in St. Charles.

According to an earlier press release, the O’Fallon Police Department responded to a call on Dec. 26 at The Bank of Old Monroe, at 401 TR Hughes Blvd. A suspect described as an approximately 35-year-old white male with dark-colored short hair, and a beard and mustache, approached the counter and gave the teller a note demanding money.

The suspect stole an undetermined amount of money and left the premises. No weapon was displayed or implied, and no one as injured during the robbery, according to police. A white minivan cab has also been identified as a vehicle of interest.
