It’s too late to adopt a family this holiday season, but there are other ways families can give to the community this month.
The 700-plus local needy families have been adopted at Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service, but there are still a few items needed for its annual Adopt A Family program.
Yvonne Tihen, coordinator for Adopt A Family, said there is still a need for artificial Christmas trees, and bicycles for children under the age of six. Donations of gift certificates for shoes, and to grocery stores are always welcome additions. Food pantry donations have been low this year, and non-perishable food items and personal care items are accepted all times of the year.
To contribute or learn more, contact Tihen at 441-1302, ext. 224. Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 4116 McClay Road in St. Charles.
