Residents compete for holiday spirit

Cottleville residents are getting into the holiday spirit by transforming their homes into a bright and sparkling winter wonderland.

City Administrator Scott Lewis said the annual Holiday Lights Contest has many residents going above and beyond when decorating their homes for the holidays.

“Some include residents dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus – and elves too when their grandkids are visiting,” Lewis said. “Others have radio stations to tune into to watch changing lights to music.”

Judging took place Dec. 15-17. Mayor Jim Hennessey chose three winners and an honorable mention awardee after presstime. [Midriversnewsmagazine.com will have additional news on the winners following the mayor’s decision.]

Winners will get a sign for their yard and a gift certificate to a Cottleville business.
