Owners Dan and Nancy McGee have opened a second location in Chesterfield of their downtown Kirkwood store Fun in the Sun, which offers a unique assortment of men’s and women’s apparel in a casual, beach-themed atmosphere. The new store is located at 1654 Clarkson Road, and can be reached at 778-1310.  Store hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sunday from noon-5 p.m.

Alexandra Ballet has named CiCi Houston as its co-artistic director. Houston has performed with professional ballet companies and as an international guest artist; she has been on the faculty of Alexandra Ballet since 2003, and has served as the company’s associate director since 2011.

Manchester resident Lance Crayton has joined Aschinger Electric as electrical services sales specialist. Crayton brings 17 years of experience in sales services, payroll industry and human resources. He holds a degree in business management administration from Missouri State University.

Teresa Miller, owner of Treats Unleashed in Chesterfield, has joined the National Retail Federation’s Small Business Retail Council steering committee. The committee met for the first time on Oct. 16 as part of Retail Jobs Week.

St. Louis Component Repair & NDT (SCRN), a certified aircraft repair and testing facility, recently celebrated its Chesterfield opening with a ribbon-cutting. SCRN is located at 18089 Edison Ave., and is owned and operated by Dave Sparks and Ted Beishir Jr.

BSA Outfitters, the Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America’s newest outdoor supply store, held its grand opening  in October. The store, located at 13347 Manchester Road in Des Peres, offers Boy Scouts of America branded inventory along with an expanded offering of outdoor equipment and apparel.

Schnucks Markets CEO Todd Schnuck has been awarded the Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JF&CS) first-ever Community Service Award in honor of the supermarket chain’s outstanding efforts in continuously providing food and services to the community. Schnuck will be honored at an inaugural event to be held in April of 2015.

St. Louis area Mercy hospitals – Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Mercy Hospital Jefferson and Mercy Hospital Washington – each received a grade of “A” when it comes to protecting patients from errors, injuries or infections, according to the Fall 2014 Hospital Safety Score. The Hospital Safety Score is administered by The Leapfrog Group, an independent industry watchdog organization.
