The St. Charles Police Department is investigating two robberies that occurred on Sept. 13. It is believed that the suspect is the same for both crimes.
On Saturday, Sept. 13 at 2:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Petro Mart located at 2240 N. Third Street for a report of robbery that had just occurred. Preliminary investigation revealed that a white male approached the clerk and indicated that he had a knife and demanded money. The suspect threatened to stab the clerk if she did not comply. The clerk was not harmed physically and the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
On Saturday, Sept. 13 at 9:21 p.m., officers were dispatched to the BP Station located at 1990 Zumbehl Road for a report of a robbery that just occurred. Preliminary investigation revealed that a white male approached the clerk and displayed a knife. The suspect threatened the clerk and demanded money. The clerk was not harmed physically and the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years of age, 5-foot-10, medium build with short brown hair, glasses and a goatee. He was wearing a black T-shirt with white writing on the front, maroon athletic shorts and white tennis shoes. The suspect was seen getting into a red four-door sedan.
