Berkmeyer heads Missouri’s team for the Men’s State Team Championship

Skip Berkmeyer is one of three golfers to be chosen to  to represent the state of Missouri at the USGA Men’s State Team Championship.

Joining Berkmeyer on the Missouri team are Brad Nurski, of  St. Joseph, and Phil Caravia, of St. Louis. Berkmeyer and Nurski have each competed multiple times for Missouri at the championship. This will be Caravia’s first time representing the Show-Me-State.

The tournament being Sept.  30 and runs through  Oct.  2 at French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind.

In 2009, the tournament was held at the Country Club of St. Albans.

Teams from all 50 states and the District of Columbia are expected to be in the field.  The format is 54-holes at stroke play. Each day two of the three competitors scores count toward the team score.

New York is the defending champion in the bi-annual competition.

The 2015 USGA Women’s State Team Championship will be conducted at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau.
