T. J. Moe did everything he could to stick in training camp this summer with the St. Louis Rams. But on Monday afternoon, the Rams decided to go another route.
Moe, a Fort Zumwalt West standout and former Missouri star, was listed among the first 10 players cut by the Rams as the Rams whittled their roster down to 79 players.
The Rams needed to release another four players to get down to the league mandated limit of 75 by the end of Monday.
Moe signed with the Rams as a free agent in May after spending the 2013 season with the New England Patriots. He suffered a torn Achilles tendon before training camp last season with New England and was released by the Patriots in March.
In the Rams three preseason games, Moe had 28 offensive reps and 17 plays on special teams. He had one catch for four yards in the Rams preseason opener against New Orleans.
After the final cut down to 53 players on Saturday, Moe could still be a possible addition to another team’s 10-man practice squad.
