Lindenwood University product Pierre Desir has been working diligently in training camp the past two weeks with the Cleveland Browns.
The fourth round pick from Francis Howell Central had his first action just over a week ago in the Browns intersquad scrimmage in Akron, Ohio.
On Saturday (Aug. 9), Desir got to see his first preseason action as an NFL player in the Browns preseason opener at Ford Field in Detroit against Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, and the Detroit Lions.
Desir got into the game at left cornerback in the first half and missed a few tackles. He was definitely challenged in his first NFL action by the speed of the game but in making the transition from small school Lindenwood to the NFL, the Browns coaching staff knew that the pace and style of the game would be a big adjustment for him.
He got a good early taste of NFL preseason action and when the evening was done he finished with two tackles.
At 6-foot-2 and 206 pounds, Desir is a big corner and the Browns feel his size will help him develop into a solid contributor for the Cleveland defense.
To date in the preseason, Desir is slotted at third string at the left cornerback spot for Cleveland.
Desir’s next chance to get more seasoning in the preseason will come next Monday night (Aug. 18) when the Browns travel to Washington to take on Robert Griffin III and the Redskins.
