Quality wine starts on the vine

Summer Sunset DinnerTony Kooyumjian, third-generation vineyard owner and grape grower, established Augusta Winery in 1988 and purchased Montelle Winery in 1998, taking care to farm with respect for the land to produce fresh, fragrant, focused and well-balanced wines.

“The secret to our success in producing outstanding wines is our vineyards,” said Kooyumjian.  “Augusta was chosen as the first viticultural area in the United States because of its unique soils, microclimate, and history, and it is our mission to produce wines that exemplify the uniqueness of this eleven square mile area.”

Staff members are trained on wines produced in-house as well as wines of the world, so they are able to educate and excite customers about the merits of their wines and how to enjoy them to their fullest. The small production facility allows special care for each lot, and it is that attention to detail that has enabled each winery to earn numerous national and local awards.

Augusta Winery’s award-winning wines may be enjoyed on the outdoor wine terrace or in their Wine & Beer Garden. The garden features a spectacular 10-foot grape arbor, a peaceful fountain and craft beers. Customers may also attend wine courses at the Owl’s Nest.

At the Montelle Winery customers may sample wines for every palate and occasion as well as four kinds of brandy, also distilled onsite. The Klondike Café offers fresh, high quality cuisine to complement the wines and to be enjoyed on their vast deck, with a magnificent view of the Missouri River Valley.

Each winery features a gift shop, custom labeled wine, gift certificates, gift baskets and facilities available for private events.
