At its 2017 national conference, the Journalism Education Association [JEA] named Jacob Lintner as its Student Journalist of the Year for Missouri. Lintner, a senior at Francis Howell North, also finished as a runner-up in the national competition.
“It’s definitely exciting,” said Lintner. “During my sophomore year, we had a student named Daniel Bodden who was named runner-up for National Student Journalist of the Year and I realized at that time that was my goal, to be thought of as one of the best journalists in the country.”
Lintner is the seventh person from Missouri to earn the accolade and the third Francis Howell North senior to place in national competition. Bodden earned the recognition in 2015 and Kelsey Bell earned it in 2012.
Lintner is known for his coverage of Francis Howell North sports. Along with his classmates, he established a livestream of Knights’ athletics. He also is responsible for keeping the FHNgameday.com website up to date.
He will attend Boston University in the fall.
