Open year-round, tax season is particularly busy at The Old Tax House. The professional staff is training, reviewing new tax laws, and identifying ways to successfully help their clients.
“It’s ironic that area tax scams are in the form of threatening phone calls,” said Vice President Lisa Parres. “In reality, it is increasingly difficult to actually speak to anyone at the Internal Revenue Service.”
A fewer number of IRS personnel is another problem. Taxpayers will have a difficult time getting help when they need it. According to several industry experts, the IRS plans to scale back face-to-face contact as well as telephone assistance in a continued effort to reduce costs.
What does this mean for taxpayers?
“It should have minimal effect on our clients,” said Parres. “Our goal is to help our clients through the tax preparation process.”
The Old Tax House has been helping taxpayers do just that for a very long time. Locally owned and operated, the business has been at the same location for 39 years, growing side-by-side with the city of O’Fallon.
“Even though we’re well established in the community, we don’t take anything for granted,” Parres added. “We understand we need to earn our clients’ business each and every year. The fact that our clients choose to partner with us year after year, says it all.”
Hard work, dedication and a commitment to customer service are the reasons for the company’s continued success.
“We never forget that people have a choice and we’re always grateful they choose to put their trust in us.”
